You can earn:
- 1 *500 points welcome bonus (that is almost a one way fare to Montreal)
- 1 point for every dollar spent
How do you earn points?
Make sure to provide your VIA Preference number at the end of every transaction
Depending on your membership level, you can earn from 1,2,3 points for every dollar spent
Points are awarded depending on the fare you choose (see the chart below)
Extra points:
- Book online and get 25 bonus points
- Pick up your e-boarding pass at a self-service ticketing kiosk and get 25 bonus points
Points are only awarded to the ticket holder. Points are non-transferable.
How to redeem points?
VIA Preference points can be redeemed for travel on on board VIA trains travel in Canada and in France on SNCF trains
- Points are calculated by one way segments, per person
- For a return trip, multiply the needed points for a one way segment
- Travel rewards may only be claimed with points and not by combining cash and points
- You may claim points for a one-way segment and pay for the return trip
- VIA Préférence members aged 12-25 get a 20% reduction on redemptions in Economy class
- Reduction is applied at time of booking
